We will pick you up from your hotel, whether it’s in the Punta Cana and Bávaro area or in Bayahibe. Our guide will welcome you on the bus to the Bayahibe port, where our private excursion to Saona Island will begin.
Boarding in Bayahibe
Our boat will be waiting for us on Bayahibe beach. Here you will also receive the wristbands for entry to the national park, which are issued by the Ministry of Tourism. And off we go!
Arrival at El Toro Beach
After about 30 minutes by boat, we arrived at Saona Island and saw the first idyllic beaches. On this private tour to Saona Island, we planned to go against the grain of the large tourist crowds. Therefore, we left all the other boats behind and made our first stop at Playa El Toro. This white-sand beach slopes gently down to meet the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. In this bay, the sea is usually very calm, and you can touch the bottom even further from the shore. It’s the perfect beach to relax and enjoy a refreshing glass of champagne with a light snack.
Visit to the village of Mano Juan
Around midday, we continued a little further and visited the fishing village of Mano Juan. On a short tour of the village, our guide showed us how the locals live and explained the history of Saona Island. We also visited El Negro and his turtle breeding station.
Lunch at Mano Juan
The members of the private excursion to Saona Island will enjoy a Private buffet with Dominican flavor, on the quiet beach of Mano Juan. There’s a wide variety of dishes, including pasta, rice, beans, vegetables, salad, fish, meat, plantains, and yucca. They also offer light, fruity sangria, soft drinks, and water. And of course, after lunch, you can’t miss the traditional Dominican coffee.
The Natural Pool
In the afternoon, we return to Bayahibe and continue our private excursion to Saona Island, exploring areas that are usually more crowded in the morning. During this quieter part of the day, we make a brief stop to feed the fish and, if sea conditions permit, enjoy snorkeling in the clear, vibrant waters.
We continue sailing through the Catuano Channel to show you its distinctive mangroves, a natural treasure that few truly know. And to end the day on a high note, we stop at the famous sandbar known as the Natural Pool. There, we spend about an hour relaxing with the water up to our knees, surrounded by starfish and toasting with a glass of Dominican rum in hand.
Our private tour to Saona Island ends here, amidst laughter, photos, and landscapes you won’t forget.
Return to the hotel
As the sun sets, we head back to Bayahibe, where our driver will be waiting to take us back to the hotels. We are committed to ensuring that all travelers staying in Bayahibe are back at their hotels before 5:00 PM, and that those staying in Punta Cana or Bávaro arrive no later than 6:30 PM.
Our goal is to offer you a unique experience! Therefore, our tour prices are all-inclusive and there are no hidden costs. You only need to bring some money if you want to tip the boat crew, the bus driver, or the tour guide, or if you want to buy souvenirs.
