Hotel Pickup
As with all our tours, hotel pickup is included. Once all participants have arrived, our tour guide will welcome you on the bus and provide general information about the tour and the Dominican Republic. On the way to Bayahibe, we always plan a brief restroom stop before boarding the boat.
Boarding in Bayahibe
Our boat will be waiting for us at Bayahibe beach. Here you will also receive the wristbands for entry to the national park, which are issued by the Ministry of Tourism. And off we go!
Arrival at El Toro Beach
After about 30 minutes by boat, we arrive at Saona Island and see the first idyllic beaches. On the Saona Exclusive excursion, we plan to go against the grain of the large tourist crowds. Therefore, we leave all the other boats behind and make our first stop at Playa El Toro. This white-sand beach slopes gently down to meet the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. In this bay, the sea is usually very calm, and you can touch the bottom even further from the shore. The perfect beach for swimming and relaxing.
Visit to the village of Mano Juan
Around midday, we continued a little further and visited the fishing village of Mano Juan. On a short tour of the village, our guide showed us how the locals live and explained the history of Saona Island. We also visited El Negro and his turtle breeding station.
Lunch at Mano Juan
We enjoyed an exclusive Dominican buffet, prepared just for our group, on the tranquil beach of Mano Juan. There was a wide variety of dishes, including pasta, rice, beans, vegetables, salad, fish, meat, plantains, and yucca. In addition, there was a light, fruity sangria, soft drinks, and water. After lunch, of course, you can’t miss the small Dominican coffee.
The Natural Pool
In the afternoon, we return to Bayahibe and visit the island’s main attractions, which most tourists have already seen that morning. We make a brief stop to feed the fish, with the possibility of snorkeling if the waves permit. We show you the mangrove forest of the Catuano Channel. And finally, the popular natural swimming pool awaits us, where we’ll spend another hour in the water and see the large red starfish. With the water up to our knees and a Dominican rum in hand, we end the trip here.
Return to the hotel
As the sun sets, the bus takes us back to Bayahibe, where our driver will be waiting to take us back to the hotels.
